Senior Trade Mark & Designs Formalities Administrator – Dispute Resolution/Intellectual Property

About the Role

Laytons is seeking an experienced Senior Trade Mark & Designs Formalities Administrator to join its busy team. The role involves providing key support to the Director of Trade Marks and managing a varied caseload. This is a part-time role, working three days a week.
 
Key Responsibilities

  1. Handling UK, EUIPO and WIPO prosecution (and abroad via overseas agents), renewals, deadlines docketing and management.
  2. Dealing with formalities associated with trademark and design applications.
  3. Preparing and filing UK and International trademark and design applications.
  4. Liaising with overseas agents and assisting with the preparation of documentation.
  5. Assist the team with other trademark and design formalities duties as may be required. 
  6. Ensure that all matters adhere to legal and regulatory requirements, including anti-money laundering (AML) and compliance procedures where appropriate.
  7. Understand the importance of time recording and ensure time recording is completed on a timely basis.

 

Skills and Experience Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar role is essential, ideally from 4 years’ experience+ as a guideline.
  • Experience of WebTMS is preferable 
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good team player with a collegiate and collaborative approach.
  • Able to plan workloads and resources effectively, work to deadlines and prioritise tasks.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proactive and self-motivated
  • Good IT skills with ability to use case management systems.
  • Proactive approach and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Strong IT skills with ability to use Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint) and bundling software.
  • Able to use case management systems.
