THE ROLE
Are you looking to build your career in a dynamic and fast-paced environment within the Music, Media and Entertainment sector? This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of the industry’s leading accountancy firms, supporting a diverse and high-profile client base across the creative industries.
Working closely with two experienced managers, you’ll play a key role in delivering day-to-day financial support to a portfolio of predominantly well-known musicians and creative professionals. This role offers hands-on exposure to all aspects of client accounting, giving you the chance to develop both your technical skills and your understanding of the entertainment industry.
You’ll be supported by a knowledgeable and collaborative team who are invested in your development—helping you build confidence, refine your expertise, and broaden your experience across a varied and engaging client portfolio.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Data entry/day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting for a portfolio of clients
- Posting payroll journals and reconciliation of PAYE/NIC control accounts
- Raising sales invoices in accordance with client contracts and updating of client contract schedule as appropriate
- Credit Control
- Payment runs
- Basic balance sheet reconciliations
- Preparation of internal month end checklist
- Preparation of VAT returns for manager review
- Assisting with preparation of tour accounts
- Assisting with all aspects of the portfolio’s financial and personal affairs, as per the client’s needs
- Preparing social security forms for tour personnel
- Client communication via telephone & email

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- At least two years bookkeeping experience using accountancy software (QuickBooks and Xero would be desirable)
- Good foundation knowledge of data entry aspect of bookkeeping is essential
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent) with a focus on accountancy or mathematics. 1-year placement experience within accountancy is highly advantageous
